🩸Interesting Ingredients:

Glycolic Acid + Lactic Acid + Citric Acid: All forms of AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), which is a class of acids that reduce cell adhesion in the top layer of the skin (decrease cellular bond between corneocytes) which leads to an exfoliating effect. AHAs have also been shown to increase the production of mucopolysaccharides and collagen in the skin. [ Anti-Acne + Anti-Aging + Brightening ]

Glycerine: Widely used as a quality Hydrator (occurs naturally in the skin and its chemical structure attracts water). You can find this ingredient in most good skin-replenishing products.

Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract: 🔴[Not enough research] A company named Alban Muller has created an ingredient derived from Wintergreen which supposedly contains natural pure salicylic acid molecule which ‘‘helps promote the elimination of dead cells and smoothes imperfections and wrinkles.’’ [Source]

Gardenia Jasminoides Fruit Extract: 🔴[Not enough research] Antioxidant + Used as fragrant component (might be sensitizing)

[external_link offset=1]

Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract: Antioxidant (Anthocyanins + Polyphenols) + Potentially calming properties (reduces redness) + Potentially Reduces signs of UVA-induced oxidative stress (Note that UVA-induced stress greatly contributes to premature skin aging)

Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract: Antioxidant (Vitamin C, beta-carotene, glutathione, quercetin, and vitamin E) + Prevents hyper-pigmentation (Inhibits Melanin forming activity of Tyrosinase)

Portulaca Oleracea Extract: Antioxidant (high amounts of Vitamins A and C) + Wound-healing (Decreases surface area of the wound and increases tensile strength to ‘seal’ wound) + Anti-inflammatory (diminishes inflammatory response pathway)

Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract: Anti-Aging (Reduces production of enzymes that break down collagen) + Antioxidant (Scavenges free radicals)

Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract: Antioxidant + Chelating

Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract (Acai): Antioxidant (Flavonoids + polyphenols + Anthocyanins) + Vitamins A, C and E are all present in the fruit, but little research has been made on them in Acai (keep in mind that molecular forms and stability/penetrability/quality of these vitamins vary, so even if an ingredient contains them, it doesn’t always mean it actually does something when topically applied)

Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil: 🔴[Not enough research] Most data on soybean stems from that accumulated on Glycine Soja Sprout Extract + Glycine Soja Seed Extract which is: Anti-inflammatory (flavonoids) + Anti-Aging (Elastin and collagen stimulating effects) + Photoprotection (Polyphenols). The oil itself has some emollient and antioxidative compounds, but is not researched enough to really state anything solid.

Sodium Hyaluronate : Hydrating (water binding properties) + Wound healing (promotes micro circulation)

Ceramide NP : ‘‘This lipid prevents the epidermis, or the top layer of the skin, from losing moisture. When people experience dry skin, it is because of a loss of ceramides in the skin, which can also cause itching, flaking, peeling, and scaling.’’

[REVIEW] So natural Red Peel Tingle Serum (Before and After) — DEWILDESALHAB武士

1-Using the dropper spread some amount on the face and massage the serum while lightly rolling it over with hands

2-please do not apply near the eye as it can irritate the skin 3-After massaging it around for 60 seconds, wash it off thoroughly with running water *They recommend you first to apply a small amount and then check out the level of your irritation as it can vary from individual to individual *use 1 to 2 times a week

1.Tingling serum melts down all dead skin layers, including the ones accumulated on the skin surface: I’ve had a slight accumulation of dead skin on my face before using this serum. I’ve also always had a bit of a texture issue with my skin. I’m happy to report that the So natural Red Peel Tingle Serum got rid of both that accumulation and texture. I take good care of my skin and have found solutions to most of its problems ( I do always get the occasional acne break out or irritation, but that’s because I keep trying new products). However, one issue I had not tackled in the past was the softness of my face skin. Even when my skin is hydrated, moisturized, and doing just fine, it’s never precisely soft: that is, as you slide down a finger, there are always bumps and some unpleasant texture. I’ve used different exfoliating methods in the past. Some have worked, but none as well: the result with this serum is immediate, as soon as you use it, if you’ve used it adequately without irritating your skin, you’ll end up with softer skin texture. However, although it will feel smoother, it won’t particularly look smoother, as you can see from the before and after pictures below, there are still the same bumps on my skin. Repeated use of this chemical exfoliator will limit these bumps. Still, since it’s only recommended to be used twice a week, you could probably incorporate something similar to the SOME BY MI Aha/Bha/Pha 30 Days Miracle Toner to achieve better results.

2.Cleanses and smoothes the skin: This serum isn’t a cleanser, so if your skin is feeling dirty or oily, you’re better off using an actual cleanser. I guess what is meant with this claim was that the surface was cleansed when it came to pores. I haven’t experienced pore cleansing, as I shall mention in the next point. As for skin smoothing, as stated above, your skin will feel smooth, but you won’t see much of a difference visibly. Repeated use, in the long run, will yield better results, but not incredible jaw-dropping ones.

3.Unclogs blackheads and tightens pores: My blackheads are concentrated in my nose area, and I have some deeper ones in my cheeks here and there. After a month of use of this product, I have seen no difference whatsoever in these areas. In my experience, chemical exfoliators need to be either intense or, if mild, their usage more frequent, if one expects to see a decrease in blackheads. I have used the So natural Red Peel Tingle Serum as recommended, twice a week, and have never gone overboard with the product. Still, suppose you use it a couple of times and experiment with the number of times per week you use this product, and how much of the product you put on (starting with a minimal amount). In that case, you could end up finding the appropriate rate and quantity of usage of this exfoliator, which could yield better results. Do keep in mind that this process should take you some time as you need to be patient with your skin so as not to over-irritate it. If this is a path you’d like to venture into, always have some excellent anti-irritating products on hand like the: Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

. As for this exfoliator tightening your pores, it will not, as I’ve said it in the past: pores are skin openings, which consist of a multitude of small curved depression over a smooth surface, so to tighten them, you’d need something that will plump up this depression, which usually consists of collagen and elastin production triggering ingredients, or more generally laser treatments. Although AHAs have been shown to increase collagen production in the skin, I doubt that the level of collagen needed to make your pores visibly smaller or tighter will be achieved with this product.

Many people seem to complain that although this serum is called Red Peel Tingle Serum, they don’t experience any tingling. Depending on your skin type, you may or may not experience tingling. I have personally experienced none, except under my lower lip. Logic would follow that the more you put on the product, the more you are likely to experience that tingling sensation. Regardless of whether you experience tingling, the product is bound to do its job if you put enough of it. I have started putting one drop on my forehead, one on my right cheek, and one on my left cheek. This was enough to make my skin feel smoother. Still, according to the directions, you can put more, the important thing is, to begin with, a small quantity and gradually use more product each time you use it, as you test out your skin sensibility levels.

I like to follow up chemical exfoliators with hydrating soothing masks, and the one I’ve been using is one of my favorite: Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask.

Soooo do I recommend this product? Yes, for any skin type, simply because any skin type benefits from exfoliation.

[REVIEW] So natural Red Peel Tingle Serum (Before and After) — DEWILDESALHAB武士

From experience, I’ve noticed that physical exfoliators are not a good fit for most skin types. Most people - myself included- don’t understand right off the bat how much pressure, how long, and it what way physical exfoliators should be used. Moreover, the force and method you use will vary on the type of physical exfoliator used, so there is always a chance of over-exfoliating or not exfoliating adequately. However, when it comes to chemical or enzymatic exfoliators, timing and methods are always mentioned. And the force you apply over your skin won’t amount to a better or worse result. So the chances of irritation are much lower. The only way you could damage your skin with a chemical exfoliator is if you either don’t respect the time constraint (here 1 minute) or use too much of the product.

I find these types of exfoliators suitable to use for all skin types. For my sensitive skins out there, depending on the level of sensitivity of your skin, you might want to opt to start with less of the product and then gradually go up as you monitor your different reactions. And for my acneic skins, I’ve used this product on active cystic acne, and it did not particularly irritate it: only a bit of redness within the first 5 minutes after removing it. But be careful as not to fall into an over-exfoliating over-drying cycle. Your anti-acne method should always take care of the hydration and irritation levels of your skin. Check this post out for more information: [10] Anti-Acne products that actually work + A Skincare routine.

As for the necessity of this product, I don’t think it’s essential. I have mentioned that any good skincare routine should incorporate some exfoliant (preferably enzymatic or chemical). Still, the So natural Red Peel Tingle Serum would probably not be my exfoliant of choice. I still prefer the NEOGEN Dermalogy Bio-peel Gauze Peeling Wine Pads as an everyday exfoliator, or again, if you have acne-prone skin the SOME BY MI Aha/Bha/Pha 30 Days Miracle Toner. I will continue to use this tingle serum, but only because it makes my skin feel smoother, the results obtained with the other two, although not amounting to smoother feeling skin, yield better overall results when it comes to the decrease of acne and scars.

+PROS

  1. Will yield in smoother feeling skin

  2. Product will last you a while

  3. Good price to quality ratio (if you buy the 18$ priced bottled on yesstyle, not the 26$ one on Amazon)

  4. Very fun to use because it looks like blood

-CONS

  1. In terms of chemical exfoliating products, there are better ones out there

💉Score: 3.0/5 --- I personally really liked it, but as I have mentioned, this is nowhere near a necessity when it comes to your skincare routine. It’s a fun product that will make your skin feel smoother and is beneficial in the long run, but you won’t get out of this world results with it.
