The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is basically a water based serum that contains hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5.
What Does It Do:
This Hyaluronic Acid Serum aims to hydrate the skin to create a smooth and plump appearance. Hyaluronic acid is an amazing ingredient that can hold up to 1000 times it weight in water therefore giving the skin a boost in hydration, whilst also smoothing the skin texture and giving it a more firm appearance.

My Experience with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5:
This product comes in the usual “The Ordinary“ packaging, a classic white dropper bottle with a outer white cardboard box. The cardboard box has all the product details and ingredient list.
The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 has a really lightweight, cooling watery gel texture that is incredibly easy to spread and apply on to the complexion. The gel texture makes it really easy to work with and the hyaluronic acid serum absorbs and sinks into the skin quite quickly. Though the consistency is slimy, it sinks into the skin deeply and doesn’t leave any stickiness.
I am quite impressed by the lightweight formula that melted right into my skin, leaving it feeling softer than ever. I usually use this twice in the morning and evening and then follow up with my other skincare products. This product works really well in making the skin plumper, more hydrated, soft and firmer.
For those who do not know, Hyaluronic Acid or sometimes known as HA, it is a sugary molecule that can attract up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water. It is considered to be an amazing hydrating ingredient for skin, suitable for all skin types whether skin be oily, sensitive or prone to breakouts. Hyaluronic acid occurs in body naturally, in fact, our bodies contain around 15 grams of hyaluronic acid and it is found in almost every part of our body and it plays a vital role in our skin. Almost half the body’s hyaluronic acid is found in the collagen of the skin. Due to the fact that it can retain and hold so much water, hyaluronic acid is considered to be a wonderful moisturizing agent.
Sagging skin is partially due to the lack of water in the tissues, and hyaluronic acid keeps that water in. Sun exposure can also cause skin dehydration, but hyaluronic acid can help keep the moisture in, so skin looks and feels healthier. Hyaluronic acid plumps up the skin and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles when used consistently and correctly. As we age, our levels of hyaluronic acid will decrease and this plays a part in skin loosing its firmness as it no longer holds as much water. This is why serums which contain hyaluronic acid are fantastic to minimize the appearance of fine lines or help those who have dehydrated skin.
I did feel that this did give my skin a much needed amount of water and made my skin feel smoother, hydrated and almost a little bouncy. I also see a difference in my skin, it appears smooth and plumped and even my makeup goes on well. What more should I say, I am really impressed with this product and will recommend it everyone.
