Prior to attending the Naval Academy, Mason had cheer experience and was passionate about training and helping others achieve their goals. Even after the cheer season ended, Mason would reach out to the coach to hold stunt sessions. He was always available during plebe summer to assist with the incoming plebes and even received his cheer certification to be a safety observer.
